I’ve made plenty of different halo rings in my time, most of them as custom orders. Everyone has different ideas and design specifications, heights, widths, diamond sizes and metal combinations i.e. platinum, yellow, white and of course pink gold. Nice to take a break from a ring design plan and come up with the perfect platinum halo ring. So I start my adventure by choosing a magnificent 2 carat cushion shaped diamond, that’s the easy bit done. Next I need to make a ring like no other, now the fun begins. All I want to see is perfectly matched diamonds of the highest quality everywhere I look, I want them touching each other, I also want these rings to be practical for everyday use and the matching wedding ring fits perfectly against the engagement ring with no annoying gaps. Sounds easy hey! So I made a whole bunch of silver sample rings and halos over the next few months to work out all the proportions of everything and how they all fit together. Here is the finished set of rings in platinum finger size J, 2.8 carats of diamonds in both bands and the 2 carat cushion (4.8 carats total) for sale at AUD $50,000. I’ve had some interest in smaller versions of this ring so I’m back to the work bench trying to put together a 1 carat version, a .75 (three quarters) and a .50 (half a carat) to make this style of halo ring affordable for everyone to enjoy.
